POCKET GARDEN

This garden was as small as they come. We were asked to fill this small space with a fish pond. We needed to maximize water surface and filtration for a healthy living environment.  We sketched a quick idea with a small granite koi feeder and stone boulder arrangement.  The pond was built with an extra deep refuge and completely lined with mixed stone size for aesthetic value.  We provided a several plant accents to soften the borders between existing walks, fence and pool building.

THE DRIVE COURT

The project featured above was a complete entrance make-over from the foundation out.  The project had adopted a driveway layout from the initial construction vehicle patterns and did not account for the vehicular traffic of guest and homeowner. We revised the layout to incorporate a simple square drivecourt with guest parking and cobble accents. We invited the main walkway into the driveway to attract focus between main entrance and side entrance.  Antique granite columns strengthened our hedgerows and gateways. We incorporated a lavender perennial border to provide a seasonal interest to the hedge....

What makes outdoor living important? Landscape architects, designers and contractors all have different answers to making your landscape your personal retreat.  Our answer for this landscape: Seating!  The function of outdoor comfort relies on the furniture. It should be in your budget, it should be part of your plan and your contractor or designer should be building your space to accomodate it.  This project was designed for comfort.
